Who is Nestor?Why is he referred to in the extract?

Nestor isn't actually a character in The Merchant of Venice. He is an allusion to one of the leaders of the Greeks in the Trojan War from Homer's Iliad. Nestor is alluded to because he represents wisdom and good moral judgment.
