No, Morocco wouldn't have been a good suitor for Portia.

In Act 2 Scene 1, Morocco proved himself foolish by telling Portia, "Mislike me not for my complexion., which clearly states that Portia shouldn't mislike him because of his skin color. Afterwards, while choosing the caskets, he described each casket respectively, and it is clerly revealed that he would choose quality over signifance. We can understand it when he chose the golden casket and praising it alot, and ignoring the leaden and silver casket. By doing this, he proved himself foolish again and therefore, a mismatch to Portia.
