Why does Vladek call Haskel a 'kombinator'?

Haskel is a cousin of Vladek’s. He is like a slimy salesman. He schmoozes and schemes his way into being treated better than other Jews. Vladek calls him “Kombinator" which means schemer. In reality, the two are not that different. Haskel, like Vladek, just does what he needs to in order to survive.
