Did Artie ever get the closure he needed from this book?

I don't think Artie completely reconciled with his father at the end of the book. I think that Artie understood his father better which allowed Artie some sense of closure. Vladek was simply a flawed individual who went through much trauma during the war. I think that Artie understood that Vladek tried his best with who he was.
