I think that you are referring to Macbeth's whole invite to Banquo for their "solemn supper". He really intends to have Banquo and Fleance killed hence the pause. Check this out,

(indicating BANQUO) Here’s our most important guest.

LADY MACBETH

If he had been forgotten,

It had been as a gap in our great feast,

And all-thing unbecoming.
