“The success of his tiny joke overcame Ralph. His sniggers became uncontrollable, his body jumped and twitched” (165).

Can you also explain what is meant by the "sucsess of his joke?"

Ralph is having some fun at Piggy's expense. He suggests Piggy write to his aunt. Of course they are on a deserted island but Piggy still goes through the motions of explaining why he can't write a letter.
