Pi defines “zoomorphism” as an animal perceiving a different animal to be part of its species. He illustrates this with examples of snakes not attacking a mice. He rationalizes this by anthropomorphizing his animals (giving them human characteristics). He thinks the snake would regret, taking “an imaginative leap away from the lonely, crude reality of a reptile.”
