Is there a “real me” apart from the social self?

This question calls for your opinion... there is no right or wrong answer. In my opinion, people often present themselves socially in a way that does not truly reflect who they are... on the other hand, there are also people whose true selves are perceived incorrectly because they prefer an isolated existence... a world in which they do what makes them happy. The latter describes Niggle, who lives his life creating art and searching for perfection in his own work.
