Explain conscience versus law?

In Antigone, the heroine (Antigone) purposely and knowingly breaks the law dictated by Creon to insure her brother is buried rather than allow his body to be desecrated in shame. She followed her conscience..... and acted as a loving sister, rather than following a decree she cold not accept.
