Chapter 1. What hint is given you of trouble already brewing between Boston and England?

In chapter 1 we learn there is animosity between the Whigs and Tories. Mr. Hancock wants the apprentices to vote for him when they are old enough. As for himself, Mr. Lapham disagrees with Mr. Hancock’s politics. He thinks that Americans should humbly submit to English rule. The Tea Party comes much later when forces really begin to clash. Certainly the Tea Party sets off all the serious fighting that is to take place later.
