Ngawang Topche, one of Scott's sherpas, had been feeling weak for a few days. Sherpa's are expected to "tough it out" to maintain their reputations and hence get the best paying expiditions. Instead of going to base camp, Scott Fischer "suggests" that Ngawang continue to Camp Two. Ngawang will eventually succumb to  High Altitude Pulmonary Edema. Fischer should have ordered his sherpa go to lower elevations instead of climbing to Camp Two.
