why does argives send embassy to achilles in book nine?

Question

a)they have heard achilles is softening watching argives die

b)they are in panic after a storm indicates zeus is on the trojan ride

c)they are done passing around briseus and want to give her back

d) achilles owes nestor due to a bet, they have come to collect

I don't know anout "argives" but Nestor suggests reconciliation withAchilles.
