Shooting an Elephant Comprehension 2

This story presents a similar theme (heroic qualities) found in Beowulf. Although the theme is the same, how does each story present the theme differently?

Beowulf is an epic hero who takes on his enemy with brash bravery. Orwell is a very reluctant hero who does not wish to be involved with the killing of the beast (elephant).
