Genetic engineering is experimented with on a daily basis. Eugenics has been promoted for decades. This theme does have a hint of reality, although I do not believe we will see any of these drastic implementations during our lifetime. The author does a superb job illustrating possibilities..... I wouldn't say it's impossible,
