where has matt gone

Matt's mother says that he has gone and that she is glad to be rid of him. One of Matt's brothers tells Kira that Matt has decided to live with Kira and Thomas, but first he went on a journey to find them a gift. The child says that Matt and Branch have gone to find Kira some blue, though Kira is not sure what the boy means.
