The creature, overcome with emotion, says that Victor, too, is his victim; he asks Frankenstein to pardon him for his crimes. Despite all that has transpired between them, the creature still harbors love for his creator. No, this does not surprise me. At heart the creature loves his creator as men often love God despite tormented lives. Despite all his hardships, Victor was a part of the creature, he can never escape this fact.
