Troy sense of limitations has been shaped by his contact with the white world. He has accomplished more than he ever dreamed..... owning a home, working at a great paying job.... but he can't see past it. He cannot see that his son's world will continue to expand, and that opportunuties will continue to present themselves. This is especially apparent in Corey's dream of a football scholoarship, a dream that Troy does not believe ca be realized based upon his own experiences in baseball.
