This forum only has the space to give you a few basic ideas. Consider that both Macbeth and Jekyll were decent guys who succumbed to their darker selves. Both liked the rush of power and corruption yet had a side that had a conscience. We see this battle between their "good" conscience and their blackness of their "dark desires." Eventually the evil side of both their personalities eclipses and good that is left.
