what extent does Karl Marx make a convincing argument?

Marx believed that as more and more workers were pushed down into poverty, they would eventually rise up against their bosses. Socialist ideology would push out the elite and money would be redistributed to by the workers for the workers. This sounds okay in principle but in practice never turned out to be quite so grand. Check out George Orwell's famous novel "Animal Farm".

I would like to ask a question. Do you think the target group in this book is only workers? Or are they both bourgeois and workers? He calls out to the workers to organize and blames the Bourgeois. For this reason, would it be more correct to say that only workers are the target group?
