Why do you think London emphasises the connection between Buck and his ancestors?

Much of the book deals with the motif of naturalism: the inherent majesty of nature and her power over man. London separates Buck from man by giving him the evolution that the wild dog or wolf has. It is this instinct born out of evolution that makes the wolf more adept to the natural world than man.
