Beowulf

What does Beowulf’s speech just before fighting Grendel’s mother suggest about his relationship to his men? To Higlac?

“The Monster’s Lair,” “The Battle with Grendel’s Mother,” and “The Last Battle”

Beowulf says for the king to take care of his men and to give Hygelac the treasures that he received. (In the book lines 1480-1483). This suggests that he loves his men very much and he respects Hygelac very much.
