why do the min characters take the name promethus and grea?

Equality takes the name Prometheus in honor of the ancient man who brought light to man from the gods and was punished for his kindness. He sees their circumstances as very similar. He names the Golden One, Gaea, after the earth goddess..... the mother of all other gods.
