In Animal Farm, the pigs are treated in a superior manner because they are the ruling class They changed the rules to suit themselves and took liberites no other animal would dare. The initial commandments called for strict rules, and over time, the rules were changed to please Napoleon and other leaders. These changes included the types of food they ate, sleeping in beds, wearing clothing, and drinking alcohol. When the other animals made reference to their actions, the laws were simply changed, and the pigs used the power of propaganda and speech to convince the other animals that they just didn't remember correctly..... they of course, suffered from faulty memories.
