1. How did Napoleon and Squealer use Snowball to control the animals?

They let Snowball achieve certain goals, like successful revolution, until they could take credit for Snowball's labours and intelligence. After the revolution, Snowball becomes a liability to Napoleon. Squealer uses his art of manipulation and "fake news" to slander Snowball and control the animals.
