A Streetcar Named Desire

Scene 4 and 5

What does Blanche want from Shep Huntleigh?

What is implied by Blanche's use of idiom in her statemant that she does not know how much longer she can "turn the trick"?

In essence, Blanche wants money from Shep, even though she hasn't seen him in years. Blanche's idiom implies she's willing to trade her body (turn a trick) in return. The fact she doesn't know how much longer she can "turn the trick", alludes to her age and appearance..... how much longer she'll be desireable.
