Mama says that is Walter accepts Mr. Linder's money, he won't have anything left inside. In this statement, she means that he'll lose his sense of purpose, his pride in being a man, and his drive to become successful. He will be giving up his dreams because a white man paid him off.... everything his ancestors worked toward and experienced will be for nothing.
