Sara slept soundly but awakened quickly, but kept her eyes closed. She did not realize that the sky light latch was what awakened her. She did not want to get out of bed because she was nice and warm. She assumed she was dreaming. She dreamed she felt nice, thick quilts on her, too. Although she did not want to wake up, her eyes began to open anyway. She saw a warm fire in the grate, a kettle, a folding chair and table, dishes, food, rug, a teapot, new books, a silk robe and slippers, and a satin quilt. She still thought it was a dream. She found a note that said only "To the little girl in the attic. From a friend." Sara burst into tears of happiness for having a friend. She went next door and woke Becky up to share the warmth with her. Sara told her the magic had come while they slept.

When Sara woke up , she could not tolerate her starvation so she saw so much delicious food on the table . She thought that she was dreaming so she rubbed her eyes but the food didnt dissappear so she went to the fire and touched it to get back her senses but the food was still there so she didnt believed it and rushed to tell Becky about this .

In Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel The Little Princess, there are several moments where Sarah is described as opening her eyes and seeing amazing pictures. There are two possibilities here.

At the beginning of Chapter 13, Sarah had just woken up in the middle of the night and went out to her attic window to look outside. Her text describes what she sees: .

Later, in Chapter 19 of the book, Sarah wakes up again in the middle of the night to hear strange noises. When she goes to explore, she sees something truly amazing:

"She got up and went to the window. There was no light in the house, but the stars were shining in the sky. Suddenly she saw a faint light in the world, far away over the roof. but she held her breath and watched him until something obscured him.

And after a while, she heard the door open, shut herself up, and saw the light again and saw the face of the man who had entered the door. It was the face of an Indian gentleman!”
