In Chapter Sixteen, the man drive the cattle out of the swamp area and turn west. As they move across the prairie, Tobias is met by Windell Lykes, who offers Tobias a job taking his cattle to market too. As the group nears Punta Rassa, Tobias hopes that he hasn't been given Tobias incorrect information about being able to sell cows there. Tobias sleeps uneasily, as he is both hopeful and anxious about the pending sale.
