As I already stated; the use of people working in respected professions reinforces the beliefs and acceptance of their comments. Ibsen uses those who've garnered respect for what they've accomplished to garner respect for society as a whole. These are trusted members of society, their opinions are believed without question, people look up to them. Who could be more believable or serve Ibsen's purpose better than characters gathered from three of our most important professions.
