At the play’s end, how did Scrooge help those less fortunate?

In the end, Scrooge awakens a new man. He buys the Cratchits their Christmas goose, gives money to charity, merrily walks the streets, attends Fred's Christmas dinner, and gives Bob Cratchit a raise.
