I think the party could expect an artist/poet like Ampleforth to use the word God in a poem. Ampleforth's days were always numbered simply because a poet can't last in a state bent on destroying the English language. Parsons is more surprising because he is a party drone who doesn't seem to have an original thought in his head. It is also suspect that Parsons even did anything wrong. His children wanted to become child heroes for the party and would easily turn their parents in for a real or fabricated infraction.
