    What is McCarthyism?

    Structure:

    Give students a brief introduction explaining that The Crucible was Arthur Miller's way of commenting on the McCarthyism of the 1950s. Explain to students that they will be conducting and presenting some research to the class on what McCarthyism was.

    Split students into 4 groups. The groups will read and articles and prepare 5-minute presentations on their subject. Suggested articles are listed beside each topic, but feel free to choose your own articles or passages that address...
