Chapter 18 - Thermal Properties of Matter - Problems - Discussion Questions - Page 609: Q18.3

Answer

The temperature rises.

Work Step by Step

This effect is predicted by the ideal-gas equation, pV=nRT. As the tires flex, they heat up, and the gas temperature T rises. The volume V stays the same, roughly, so the pressure P rises. You should not let out air. If you do so, the tire pressure will be too low after the tire has cooled down.
