We place the ball so the stream of air runs slightly above it. Then, the speed of air over the upper surface is greater than the speed below its lower surface. The Bernoulli effect is that the air pressure is lower at the top of the ball, so air presses the ball upwards, from below.
This upward force can cancel the downward force of gravity acting on the ball,
resulting in zero net force. The ball remains at its position.
