The bizarre thing about the transition is growing wings on the legs, but Liddy gladly waits for that to happen. Therefore, Liddy is an important character because she gives the reader confidence to face new challenges to transition into the next stage of life.

For instance, the narrator is closely connected to her dead mother through dreams and emotions. Therefore, people can die physically, but their spirits remain with the living.

    In "Twenty Hours," couples kill each other because they expect a better edition of a partner with prescribed features. The men are the most notorious because they kill their wives to print other women who are expected to be more beautiful and well-behaved. Ironically, men are disappointed when they discover that the printed wives are the same as the previous ones.
