From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, published in 1968, tells the story of sixth-grader Claudia Kincaid and her younger brother, nine-year-old Jamie, who run away from home and stay at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. While there, they encounter a mysterious statue, Angel, which may or may not have been sculpted by the legendary Michelangelo Buonarroti. Claudia becomes determined to solve the mystery of the statue, and to be a different person when she finally returns home to Connecticut. Their research ultimately leads Claudia and Jamie to the home of the wealthy, elderly widow Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, who originally sold the statue to the museum, and...
