How has Gjorg’s attitude towards his fate evolved over the course of the novel?
Gjorg’s character arc is depressingly consistent in Broken April. He has been faced with an essentially hopeless situation all throughout the novel, with little possibility of amelioration and no possibility of escape. The one exception is when Gjorg perceives that he finally has a chance to see Diana again. This gives Gjorg a final hope that his family’s blood feud cannot suppress.
