Koznyshev's book is largely ignored and at least one critic reviewed it negatively. To Koznyshev, six years of work have amounted to almost nothing, making him somewhat paranoid and gloomy (but not suicidal like Anna, Vronsky, and to a lesser extent, his brother Levin).
