Zeitoun provides an incredibly wide variety of issues for students to engage with. They can learn about one of the most remarkably multicultural cities in the United States, New Orleans, and how the federal and local governments failed to prepare for and react to a natural disaster. By learning about Zeitoun and his family, students can learn about the growth of Islamaphobia and Anti-Arab racism in the United States after the terrorist attacks of September 11th.
