Relationship to Other Books

As previously mentioned, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail has been adapted to film. The film may be useful for showing students how the inner and outer aspects of Cheryl's momentous journey (primarily, the wilderness and the emotional struggles that she faced) can be rendered in other forms of media.

Strayed's book Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Life and Love from Dear Sugar is also an excellent recommendation for seeing more of Strayed's style. Because it contains of some of the most well-received advice she gave during her time as an advice columnist for The Rumpus, it may help to acquaint students further with Strayed's styling of writing and popular impact....
