Warm Bodies Background

Warm Bodies Background

Warm Bodies is romance novel with post-apocalyptic and zombie themes, written by Isaac Mario. The book was released on October 14, 2010 by Atria Books. This was Marion’s most notable work, having received critical acclaim from The Guardian and other noteworthy publishing companies.

The story centers around a zombie, simply known by the letter ‘R’, as he struggles to understand why he is different to the other zombies in that he has aversions to eating human flesh and his language is more developed than that of other zombies. He soon manages to consume the memories of another, and develops romantic feelings for human, Julie, which leaves him at conflict with not only himself, but the rest of the zombies.

The novel received much praise, including from Stephanie Meyer, famed author of the Twilight series. A movie adaptation was also made and released on 2013, starring Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer as R and Julie, respectively. The movie was a success, and grossed over a $100 million and also won a Teen Choice Award for Hoult.
