Two or Three Things I Know for Sure Quotes

Two or three things I know for sure, and one of them is what it means to have no loved version of your life but the one you make

Allison

When the reality doesn’t suit you, you can create your own, the one you’ll like, thinks Allison. Her main message in this quote is that you shouldn’t adjust to the situation if you don’t like it, when you have vivid imagination then everything is possible. You can create the perfect world for yourself, the one you’ll feel comfortable in. And she did so, her real life was unbearable for her, rude and violent stepfather, endless poverty – she hated all that, so she made up her own world, the mix of real and fake and she told stories about this world, it was her passion, her haven from all problems around her and she liked it more than reality.

Two or three things I know for sure, and one of them is the way you can both hate and love something you are not sure you understand

Allison

It sounds like a paradox but still its true. There are things we both hate and love and in this case it is hard to find out which feeling prevails. It is strange and illogical, and we don’t know whether its right or wrong, but sometimes it is hard to choose just one option. In case with Alison, she treated many things this way. She both hated and loved her life and all its components, her family, her character, the way she lived and the place she were born. She couldn’t decide if she hated or loved it because she thought she didn’t understand many things in her life so she cannot know for sure how she feels about them. Many people may be familiar with this feeling when, depending on your mood, age and other changeable factors your attitude toward some things is unstable and ambiguous because the understanding of those things is unclear.

Two or three things I know for sure, and one of them is how long it takes to learn to love yourself, how long it took me, how much love I need now

Allison

Indeed, for some people it takes ages to accept them as they are, without any masks and mocking. In case with our protagonist, it took almost all her life. She never considered herself beautiful, smart or strong but she was constantly working on herself, trying to become better version of her inner ego. It took much time and even more efforts, because no one supported her, there were laughter and disapproval but these didn’t break her down. Moving against the stream became her religion, her fate and she accepted it. No matter how hard it was she always knew that it is the taste of progress – bitter and in the same time sweat. She finally understood that she is worth something, she has achieved something and it helped her to start loving herself because she deserved it.

Two or three things I know for sure and one of them is that telling the story all the way through is an act of love

Allison

Allison needed love, it was love she was looking for en everything she did – in karate and her stories, especially in her stories because it was her passion since her childhood, it was something that gave her –power to create the world she liked, to become a person she would like to be. She could make people believe in her words no matter if they were true of lie and it was her gift. The words she pronounced had a magic, they became alive, flowing from her lips like a beautiful melody which charms and hypnotizes. It was her life, sometimes real, sometimes mixed with sweet lie, but she loved it, she created it by herself, and the way she was telling them was a kind of ritual, the beautiful act of love she experienced every time, one called "a story."
