The Souvenir Museum Irony

The obstacles to love

The paradox of love is dominant in the story 'The Irish Wedding.' Jack and Sadie are in love, but their future is uncertain. For instance, when visiting his family, Sadie learns nasty things about Jack and his family. The reader thinks that Sadie is breaking up with Jack, but on the contrary, they marry after twenty years of dating.

The irony of the trip 'Proof.'

David takes his father to Scotland to reconnect with his memory and people. Paradoxically, David is guilty because he knows that the trip is dangerous for his father. However, despite David knowing that the trip will add more pain to his father, he decides to continue the journey.
