The Sound of My Voice Irony

The Sound of My Voice Irony

Alcohol as the solution to a problem

The primary paradox in the entire text is when Morris assumes that alcohol is the solution to his problem. The reader learns that Morrison is an individual who is successful in his job and he has a stable family. Ironically, he drinks alcohol uncontrollably whenever he is stressed, thinking that it is the best solution to his problems. The reality is that alcohol only offers a short-term solution, but the problem even becomes bigger.

The satire of happiness

Outwardly, Morris is a successful man working in a prestigious position in a biscuit company. During meetings, Morris shines because he is brilliant and focused. Similarly, Morris is introduced as a happy family man. Ironically, Morris is hurting and depressed, and he thinks that the best way to solve his problems is by drinking alcohol. Therefore, an outward look of an individual can be deceiving because reality is the complete opposite of what we see.

The paradox of life

Every human being yearns for a good life, job and family. Ironically, when people are blessed with such opportunities in life, they easily forget and follow the path of self-destruction. Morris is a good example of people who do not appreciate the virtue of life. Instead of building his career and elevating his family, Morris destroys his life by drinking alcohol uncontrollably.
