Explain the cause and effect relationships, re: events and characters, that set the various aspects of the plot in motion.
Analyze character and how different characteristics and relationships affect the plot and the themes of the story.
Identify the themes of the book and apply them to the unfolding of the plot, as well as to universal conditions that occur in nearly all times and places.
Apply the themes of the book, such as justice, violence, governance, and human nature to issues people still deal with today.
