    Look at the chapter titles over the course of the book. What kinds of stories could you tell just from these titles (i.e., imagining that you haven’t read the book)? What effects do the titles have on the reader’s experience and the overall meaning of the story as a whole?

    This question invites students to consider the large scale form of this book specifically, and the idea of organizational strategy in general. Students might make observations about any patterns they detect in the titles (are they all fairly straightforward descriptions of what happens in that chapter? Are they artful or poetic?
