The Glass Castle Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of The Glass Castle, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

On Day 1, the Travelogue activity involves online searches and creating an online scrapbook or Pinterest board; the First Memories activity uses online editing and publishing.

On Day 2, the Memoir, Memory, and Authority activity will require online editing tools, and its attached homework assignment requires audio-recording.

Day 3's Adaptation and Performance activity uses online document-sharing.
