Silence of the City
In the opening of the film, Nolan shows wide shots of Gotham City. The imagery represents how quiet the city has become now that the Dent Act has been enforced and criminals are being taken off the streets.
Push In
Nolan shoots Blake telling Bruce Wayne about his past as an orphan and as he speaks Nolan pushes the camera in on Blake and in the reverse shot of Bruce Wayne pushes in as well. The imagery shows how these characters have a similar interior and past that connects them in a deeper way than Bruce connects to many people in such an immediate way.
Two Paths
Just before entering the sewers with Batman we see Selina sitting in a composition where there are two paths for the subway to take. The two paths represent Selina's dual nature, and the option she has to either do what is right or betray her moral responsibility to the people of the city.
For the World to See
After the special forces team is killed by Bane's men, they are strung up from the Gotham bridge. We see them on a TV set from Bruce's cell in Bane's prison. The imagery makes a very real situation out of a film as these types of images are regrettably seen in war zones throughout the world. It brings a great weight to the film.
