Study Objectives

If all of the elements of this lesson plan are employed, students will develop the following powers, skills, and understanding:

    Students will connect their own experience to the author's by researching race, education, and workforce statistics in the 1930s, 1960s, and today and completing activities designed to encourage personal reflection, such as guided meditation and free-association lists.
