Chapter 11 - Properties of Solutions - Questions - Page 543: 17

Answer

As temperature increases, gas molecules will have a greater average kinetic energy by the Kinetic Molecules Theory. In other words, a greater fraction of the gas molecules in solution will have a kinetic energy greater than the attractive forces between the gas and water molecules. Therefore, less solute-solvent interactions will occur and most gas molecules will escape to the gas phase.
